24-Oct-2009 Added Industry Canada TV Database

In the past, information about Canadian transmitters was provided through the FCC database.  Through a cooperative data sharing agreement, the US and Canada shared transmitter data so that each government could work out their frequency plans and minimize interference on both sides of the border.  Unfortunately, this data gets outdated quickly and the FCC has not done a good job of keeping the Canadian transmitter records up to date in their database.  It has been pointed out several times in the past that Industry Canada maintains a more up-to-date database of those transmitters.

Starting today, we now use the Industry Canada database to represent Canadian transmitters.  This will hopefully correct some of the FCC errors that have been observed in the past (like transmitters at the wrong location, ones that are not on the air, or transmitters with incorrect channel assignments).  This is still no guarantee that all the records will be accurate, but we hope this is a step in the right direction.  If anyone notices any entries that need to be fixed, please let us know via the "contact us" button at the top of the page.
